Fred D. Youngswick D.P.M.

Dr. Fred D. Youngswick, D.P.M.

Dr. Youngswick is an internationally-known lecturer and contributing author of texts and articles. He is a recognized instructor in the most recent techniques of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Besides being an educator and innovator in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Youngswick is the developer of the Youngswick Procedure. The Youngswick procedure, also called the Youngswick modification of the Austin bunionectomy, is one of the most popular surgeries for the treatment of arthritis of the great toe joint.

Dr. Youngswick is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is certified in foot and ankle surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is an active member in the American, California and Redwood Empire Podiatric Medical Associations.

After receiving his podiatric medical training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1975, he completed a two-year residency in foot and ankle surgery, and obtained his masters degree in surgical education from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1977.

Practicing since 1977, Dr. Youngswick's office is in Novato/Marin County. January 2008 marked the closing of his original practice in San Francisco. He is on the active medical staff in Marin County, at Novato Community Hospital, and North Bay Regional Surgery Center.

In 1992 Dr. Youngswick received the prestigious California Podiatric Physician of the Year award.

Vincent C. Marino D.P.M.

Dr. Vincent C. Marino, D.P.M.

Dr. Marino is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Marino completed his surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery in 1988 after receiving his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He moved out to California in 1988.

Dr. Marino specializes in minimal incision arthroscopic surgery of the ankle and foot as well as reconstructive surgery and trauma. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner certified by the state of California to perform Medical- Legal Exams. He also treats work related injuries. He is an active member of the Novato Community Hospital medical staff and the new North Bay Regional Surgery Center. In San Francisco, he is on the active staff of St. Mary's Medical Center.

Dr. Marino has been part of Novato Foot and Ankle Center since 2004 and is an active member of the Novato community. He is married with two children.
